Attention: Enclarity fax solicitations

It has come to our attention that some NYSDA members have been receiving solicitations by fax from a company called Enclarity. The solicitations claim that "In response to the ARRA Act regarding the security of Personal Health information (PHI), it is vital to verify the correct fax for Dr. Your Name Here to ensure that all PHI communication, including prescription renewal requests are secure." (See attached example)

The request goes on to ask for the dentist to sign and return the fax. To be clear, the company is legitimate, but nobody is required to respond to this request. There is NO law that requires this confirmation of fax numbers.
