Governor Cuomo Announces Agreement on Lavern's Law

Governor Cuomo has announced an agreement on the fate of Lavern's Law, the bill that would alter the medical/dental malpractice statute of limitations to a date of discovery rule for undiagnosed cancer or malignant tumors.  Lavern’s Law, officially known as S.6800 (DeFrancisco), has been sitting on the Governor’s desk without action since December 29, 2017 (he has 30 days to act on the bill because it was delivered to him when the New York State Legislature was not in session -- otherwise it will be deemed vetoed).  You can read Governor Cuomo’s announcement of the agreement on Lavern's Law below.
