Virtual Advocacy Series
Through the strength of our membership, NYSDA and the ADA are able to participate in important legislative discussions to help shape and impact our profession. On April 21, NYSDA hosted a virtual advocacy webinar reflecting on the pandemic’s impact on dentistry and what the future direction of healthcare regulation may mean for our profession. Check out the recording below.
The New York State of Health: Mary T. Bassett, MD, MPH,
Speaks to NYSDA
Special guest Gov. Kathy Hochul introduces New York State Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Mary T. Bassett, who addresses NYSDA members about the New York State of Healthcare and the important role dentists play in achieving overall health.
Dr. Kevin A. Henner, NYSDA President, hosts and Roy E. Lasky, NYSDA Lobbyist, moderates this webinar that looks to connect the members of the New York State Dental Association with the leaders of New York State government who impact and influence healthcare policy. Insight was gained from the New York State Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Mary T. Bassett on the status of COVID-19 in New York and on the proposed move of the licensing and oversight of all health professions from the New York State Education Department to the Department of Health. Other items of interest, such as Medicaid and issues related to public healthcare in New York State, including the concept of a single-payer healthcare initiative, which could include dental care, were discussed.
