Violations of the HIPAA Security Regulations can result in large fines and other sanctions. The New York State Dental Association is sponsoring a 3-hour HIPAA Security Compliance course developed by NYSDA’s Information Technology Committee. Join us to learn how to protect your patient health information, and transmit patient x-rays and records securely, all in accordance with the law.

  • Who should have access to your office wi-fi?
  • What do you do if you are hacked or infected with ransomware?
  • What is a Business Associate Agreement and when is it required?

Get the answers to these questions and more!

The goal is to educate the dental team in a common sense, step-by-step way on how to comply with these complex regulations and avoid punitive sanctions. The course includes a practical guide to HIPAA security compliance and also answers frequently asked questions about the maintenance and transmission of protected patient information.

Each dental practice will receive the NYSDA HIPAA Security Regulation Compliance Manual and guidance for completing the necessary forms and checklists contained within the Manual.
