Case #1: Threat of Competition and Bad Choices
A dentist in practice for over 30 years in a rural small town feels competition from a young dentist who recently moved into the area. The dentist begins to over treat existing patients, and other dentists begin to question the quality & necessity of care provided. The result: poor choices equal poor consequences.
Learn about your obligation to the public versus your obligation to peers, and the importance of proper recordkeeping and documentation.
Case #2: Large Group Practice Cover Up
A large group practice in a suburb of a major city has a senior provider diagnose a patient and multiple associates render care. The patient receives a treatment plan for immediate full maxillary denture and mandibular removable partial denture. You'll never guess what happens next!
During this case, learn the importance of sharing a treatment plan and coordinating care by multiple providers. In addition, the value of a preoperative review of case and laboratory materials before care will be addressed.
This course was developed according to New York State laws and regulations by dentists and attorneys whose experience extends to the fields of malpractice insurance and risk management in the dental environment.
