NYSDOH Issues Another Adverse Dental EHR Audit Hearing Decision

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has issued a hearing decision affirming recovery of a Medicaid electronic health record (EHR) incentive payment of $21,250 from a dentist, Dr. Karen Watson, by the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) pursuant to an OMIG audit.  NYSDOH rejected the dentist's appeal on the ground that she provided insufficient evidence that she had adopted a properly certified EHR system and that she also failed to establish a sufficient volume of Medicaid patients to justify an EHR incentive payment.  This continues a trend of uniformly adverse hearing decisions against dentists on this EHR topic.  To read the complete NYSDOH hearing decision affirming recovery of a Medicaid EHR incentive payment from Dr. Watson, use the link below.
