ADA Files Antitrust Lawsuit Against Delta Dental

The American Dental Association (ADA) has sued Delta Dental Insurance Company (Delta Dental) alleging that Delta Dental engaged in a horizontal division of markets – which is a scheme to divide up geographic and product market territories to avoid competition and enable raising prices due to that lack of competition.  In this case, the raising of prices is somewhat in a reverse form – the alleged market division enables Delta Dental to depress reimbursements for dental services and thereby raise its own profits/prices.  The case includes Delta Dental of New York.  You can read the complete court complaint in the antitrust litigation American Dental Association v.
