Items of Interest to Dentistry on the October 2020 New York State Board of Regents Meeting Agenda

There are two items of interest to dentistry on the October 2020 New York State Board of Regents meeting agenda: 1) the New York State Education Department [NYSED] Office of the Professions 2021 proposed legislative and State Budget priorities, which include expanding the authority of the Office of Professional Discipline [OPD], $7.85 million in funding for an electronic professional licensing system, and collecting health care workforce census data as part of the licensing process; and 2) the reappointment of Dr. Rekha Gehani [Queens County] to a second and final five year term as an extended member of the New York State Board for Dentistry [extended members are no long members of the State Board for Dentistry, but serve solely for purposes of licensure disciplinary and/or licensure restoration and moral character panels].  To read the NYSED Office of the Professions proposed 2021 legislative and State Budget priorities, use the first link below.  To read the Regents reappointment of Dr. Gehani as an extended member of the New York State Board for Dentistry, use the second link below.
