Monkeypox Resources for Healthcare Providers

The CDC recently urged health care providers in the U.S. to “be alert for patients who have rash illnesses consistent with monkeypox, regardless of whether they have traveled or have specific risk factors, and regardless of gender or sexual orientation.”

According to the NYS Department of Health, as of July, 14 2022, a total of 414 orthopoxvirus/monkeypox cases have been confirmed. The New York State Department of Health hosted a webinar for healthcare providers to provide a situational update on the evolving monkeypox outbreak in New York City and New York State. The webinar discussed how to identify symptoms, testing, infection control protocol and more.
