All healthcare insurers are required to provide accurate network status directory information. The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) has recently issued new regulations that require stand-alone dental and vision insurers to meet the same provider network disclosure requirements as comprehensive health insurers and to apply the same patient out-of-pocket payment protection rules when the insurer gives a patient inaccurate provider directory information.
