Return to Work Information
A break down of the ADA's Return to Work Interim Guidance Toolkit
Current as of May 30, 2020
All of the return to work guidance is interim. It is focused on the short-term management of dental practice during the COVID-19 pandemic as offices begin the return to providing non-emergent care. These recommendations are pulled from the interim toolkit by the American Dental Association's (ADA's) Advisory Task Force on Dental Practice Recovery. This is not the full toolkit. Due to the ever-changing landscape and evolving knowledge of the novel coronavirus, it is expected that more recommendations will be brought forward that might impact how dentists deliver care. Further information and recommendations will be provided to our members as it becomes available.
We are providing this information as a resource to prepare dental offices for reopening. As of today (May 30) Governor Cuomo announced that five upstate regions – Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country, and Southern Tier – are entering Phase II of reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic. Phase II includes all professional services. Dentistry is not excluded from being a professional service and has, along with medicine, always been defined as such.
