COVID-19 in the Workplace

It's important to properly manage positive (+) COVID-19 cases associated with your dental practice. 

 

Guidance for Positive Test Results for Staff or Household Member

Follow the below steps when a staff member or staff household member is confirmed COVID-19 positive (+):

1)  Contact your local County Department of Health office OR the NYSDOH COVID-19 Hotline: 1-888-364-3065.

2)  Identify staff members who came in contact with the COVID-19 positive staff or household member, and determine level of risk.  

Guidance for Positive Test Results for Patients

A patient that was recently treated in the practice has reported that they or a member of their household has a confirmed case of COVID-19. Follow the below steps to help manage the health of any team members who may have been exposed to that patient:

1)  Contact your local County Department of Health office OR the NYSDOH COVID-19 Hotline: 1-888-364-3065.

2)  Identify each staff member in contact with patient and determine level of risk.

3)  Review NYS Department of Health Guidance.
