NYSDA Advocacy Leads to Adoption of New Workers’ Compensation Dental Fee Schedule

Nov 14, 2025

After years of sustained advocacy, the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board has officially adopted a new Dental Fee Schedule, effective as of November 13, 2025.

This long-awaited update marks the first adjustment to dental fees since 2009, representing a significant victory for fairness and modernized reimbursement across New York State. NYSDA has long championed the need for this revision, working closely with the Workers’ Compensation Board and other stakeholders to ensure equitable compensation for dental providers treating injured workers.

“This is a tremendous achievement for New York’s dental community,” said Dr. Maurice Edwards, NYSDA President. “NYSDA’s advocacy made a real difference in helping to secure long-overdue updates that recognize the true value of dental care in the workers’ compensation system.”

As a reminder, the Workers’ Compensation Board is requiring all dental providers in the workers’ compensation system to submit the CMS-1500 universal billing form electronically, through a Board-approved electronic submission partner, effective as of August 1, 2025. Providers can offset the cost of electronic submission.

For providers: This dental fee schedule also applies to No-Fault claims. No-Fault cases may be subject to differing interpretations. For information regarding No-Fault, contact the NYS Department of Financial Services.
