GAO Issues Report on Health Care Center Funding

The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a report on health care center funding, including funding of dental services.  GAO found that health centers' total revenue rose from about $28.7 billion in 2018 to $42.9 billion in 2022—an increase of more than $14 billion.  GAO also found that the largest single source of revenue was Medicaid, accounting for over one-third of total revenue each year, and that the second largest revenue source each year was grants, including those provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  To read the GAO report on health care center funding, use the first link below.  To read GAO highlights of the report on health care center funding, use the second link below.
