Hochul to Expand Free Community College Initiative for New Yorkers
Governor Hochul announced an expansion of SUNY and CUNY Reconnect, allowing eligible New Yorkers ages 25 to 55 who already hold a degree in another field to pursue an associate degree in a high-demand field, including healthcare. Beginning in spring 2027, the program will cover tuition, fees, books and supplies, with application timelines varying by campus.
